Did you know that many Bopomofo symbols originated from Chinese characters? For instance, the graphic form of ㄅ (a Bopomofo symbol) is taken from the top portion of the Chinese character 包. (ㄅ and 包 are phonetically similar.) Learning how to write Bopomofo lays the foundation for children to become familiar with written Chinese characters.

These printables were designed to help children focus on the shape of Bopomofo (Zhuyin), stroke order, and writing directions. You can print and cut them out to make Bopomofo flashcards, which children can then color in.
