Mi Zi Ge (米字格), is named after the Chinese character 米 (mĭ, rice) as the square looks just like 米. It is popular among students for writing and practicing Hanzi (Chinese characters). We designed five Mi Zi Ge writing templates for you to practice Hanzi. Each design has features that can support different writing needs. You can print out the most suitable template for your needs and practice as many times as necessary to master your writing skills.

• Design A: We added space at the top of each Mi Zi Ge. You can use this template to practice Pinyin as well as the character.
• Design B: Similar to Design A, each writing unit is unconnected. It is ideal for practicing an individual Hanzi along with its Pinyin together.
• Design C: The space added above Mi Zi Ge is for you to add Pinyin, English, or other study notes.
• Design D: There is no space for Pinyin but leave some space between Mi Zi Ge. It is designed for people who want to focus on writing Hanzi characters row by row.
• Design E: It has no space between rows or columns. You can use this, for example, to write a paragraph or repeat words.

► PRINTING

The downloads are PDF files (document size: A4). You can use a PDF reader or web browser to open and print them. If you need to print on A3, Letter, or any other sizes, you can follow the printing dialogue of your system to scale up or down to any available media size of your printer. The printing quality may vary depending on your monitor, devices, and printer.

► USE IT ON SCREEN

PDF files allow you to write directly on the screen. You will need an iPad or tablet that works with a digital pen (stylus). Use an app that supports PDF annotations to open your downloads on the tablet. Then you can write without paper.
