New Jiu Gong Ge (新九宮格) is a relatively new writing template developed from the traditional Jiu Gong Ge (the grid that is equally divided into 9 squares). While it retains the feature of the traditional Jiu Gong Ge, the subdivided squares are adjusted to make it easy to write the characters with a smaller left part, such as 住、橋、推、喝. The grid also suits the structure of many Hanzi (Chinese characters) that have a large centred piece, like 見、月. We designed 5 New Jiu Gong Ge writing templates for you to practice Chinese Hanzi. Each design has features that can support different writing needs. You can print out the template that is most suitable to your needs and practice as many times as you need to master your writing skills.

• Design A: It has a larger space beneath the first character in each column, which is designed for people who want to add the stroke-by-stroke order sequence.
• Design B: While being similar to Design A, a space added above the stroke order square is intended for people to add the radical / stroke number notes.
• Design C: The large space added above Jiu Gong Ge is for the writer to add study notes or give the instructor space to leave comments.
• Design D: No extra spaces for notes. It is ideal for people who want to focus on writing Hanzi character with Zhuyin pronunciation.
• Design E: It has no space between rows or columns. You can use this, for example, to write a paragraph or repeat words

► PRINTING

The downloads are PDF files (document size: A4). You can use a PDF reader or web browser to open and print them. If you need to print on A3, Letter, or any other sizes, you can follow the printing dialogue of your system to scale up or down to any available media size of your printer. The printing quality may vary depending on your monitor, devices, and printer.

► USE IT ON SCREEN

PDF files allow you to write directly on the screen. You will need an iPad or tablet that works with a digital pen (stylus). Use an app that supports PDF annotations to open your downloads on the tablet. Then you can write without paper.
